"Unless you're a bonafide member of the aristocracy you will not be able to afford frequenting Rundles on a regular basis -- but for a special treat/occasion, it's an exceptional dining experience we all deserve now and then. Go in with your eyes open; check the table d'hôte menu online to ensure their options appeal to you, and then forget about the price. All my choices (smoked trout app; rib steak main; assorted cheese dessert) were absolutely delicious and reasonably portioned, as were my wife's (seasonal corn soup; lamb; grilled peach dessert). Service was professional and attentive (e.g., excuse yourself to the restroom and return to find your seat pillow has been fluffed while you were away). Decor is decidedly post-modern cool which lends itself to the quiet, elegant atmosphere. My only beef was getting charged $6 extra for the cappuccino at the end of a meal which, IMO, should come included in the $125 prix fixe. C'mon, man... gimme a break! With one cocktail each and a bottle of one of the less expensive wines on their eclectic list, my wife and I exited poorer by $450 after tip. That's fine: you get what you pay for. It was all truly great, but I have had modestly better meals and service for less money. That said, Rundles offers a unique and rare experience (at least within southwestern Ontario) that you should try to visit before they close shop or pass on to new ownership later this year as the proprietor is retiring. If/when they close their doors, Stratford will have lost a treasure."

"Delicious food, friendly service was a bit leisurely but we were in no hurry. I'm very impressed by the small but interesting wine list. Everyone at our table had a great meal, plus on a Friday we were able to walk right in and sit at the very comfortable window table."

"We booked our table well in advance, yet we were seated at a table in the farthest corner for a 2 person table, against a wall/window, with minimal privacy, despite an entire other section being available/empty for optional seating(s) and quieter dining; We were offered warm tap water no ice, etc., and subsequently, we were passed by twice at later time w/o being offered tap water at all, despite needing refill(s); Chairs were very uncomfortable; We asked (politely) AFTER appetizer course to change one dessert originally ordered at start of meal, and waiter seemed rather reluctant to do so even though patrons at a table near us didn 't order their dessert(s) until AFTER entrees had been completed (which makes much more sense); We were offered bread with our meal which we accepted (but there was NO mention of the add 'l 5.00 cost added) Unthinkable that bread would not be included with a 2 person meal 180.00 plus re drinks/, supplementary costs, taxes and tip! Not an experience we expected, and certainly did not live up to the reviews we read on line unfortunately!"

"Fish and chips (dedicated fryer) The food was great. Service was good and friendly! Separate GF menu, that was clear and had a lot of choice. Has an upright freezer for freezing to take home gluten-free meals and bakes. Recommend this place!"

"Went twice in one week. All of the soups were tasty, fresh and satisfying. The staff were super. We picked up our soups (and toast) but there are also a few tables in the restaurant."
