"This was my first stop after reaching Pondicherry on my last visit. I got off the bus and my friend insisted on going here for breakfast. It's in Auroville and quite a distance from the bus stop. We took a car (where the car apparently looted us from a crowd of whips). This place is right next to Tantos which is very popular and discovered by a friend purely by accident as Tantos was closed and suggested to us. It's an open cafe with nice seating to even spend the morning reading a book and sipping hot chocolate. We ordered chicken sandwich, tuna sandwich, cheese omelet, chicken and cheese omelette, iced tea, and hot chocolate. <br>

The sandwiches were out of the world. The chicken omelette was delicious and the cheese omelette was decent. Iced tea was refreshing and felt natural compared to processed ones. The hot chocolate was little disappointing and felt like boost in diluted milk. <br>

"This is the rating for the entire resort itself, not just the restaurant, and quite a long one. <br>

An extremely cheap hotel and not a resort as it calls itself. They collect the full amount either before check-in or during check-in, forcing you to stay here. <br>

Room: decent room ideal if you just want to sleep here. Don't expect something to work. <br>
The bed was neat but smaller than a queen size double bed. No towels in the bathroom, no toiletries. All of this was bought after asking for it. 1 bottle of water (unsealed) was kept in the room. When asked why, that is changed. It's been more than 3 hours, no response. <br>
LCD TV: does not work <br>
Wi-Fi: connects to Wi-Fi but not the Internet <br>
Room Service: The front desk had told me to call the room service number, front desk, outgoing calls etc, but the phone itself was missing from the room. When asked, they mentioned that it was not working and was therefore removed. We found the water bottle open at night but due to the lack of room service we couldn't have it changed at night. Complained in the morning, nobody did anything about it. Balcony not cleaned for ages. <br>
Bathroom: very small, more like a guest toilet. <br>

Restaurant: Free breakfast is served but what does it include, tea, coffee, idle, pongal, sambar, 2 types of chutney, tiny vada, boiled egg, bread, bitten and jam. A toaster is available to heat the bread. The paid omelette takes forever to be made. I only had to wait 30 minutes to get an omelette. Dosa: not included. Juice: not available. Desert / sweet: not available. Table: unclean, messy. Water: not served on the table. An air cushion plate is kept if necessary. If I'm not mistaken, these are all the minimum requirements for a hotel in South India for breakfast. There is 1 person who will ask for your room number when you walk in. If you ask him something about it, he will throw an attitude at you. During my breakfast this morning he picked up an argument with at least 5 people, all through no fault of theirs. <br>
Swimming pool: temperature controlled, but not cleaned. Many insects found. <br>
<br>
In conclusion, I would like to say that I don't think I will ever come back here if this type of service continues. The 1 star is because the room was gratefully clean and this hotel is close to Auroville. <br>"
