"Quirky setting, quite rustic. Food was very tasty, comfort food, generous portions- I had a lovely beer battered haddock- up there with the best. It was quite quiet when we went, time of year and early meal . It represented good value, lovely guy on bar and hotel. It was very dog friendly which I liked about the bar and hotel. The bar/restaurant is big enough to cater for dogs. I’d happily eat here again. Recommend for a lovely casual meal out."

"I visited a few months back. I didn't write a review then, but I've come back to write one now because, after having been to places that are much more expensive and not nearly as good, it feels wrong not to write a review for the place that now safely tops our list. The place is pretty tiny, but combined with the friendliness of the host, it gave the whole experience a warm, relaxed feel. The menu was a taster menu, so we didn't need to make any choices. I won't tell you what the surprises that arrived were, but they were all delicious. We didn't have a single dish that felt unbalanced, even with some highly imaginative pairings. Since the restaurant is a bit out of the way, we booked one of the rooms. We didn't realize it when we booked, but that breakfast was a great chance to experience even more tastiness at breakfast! It's a bit too expensive for us to visit often, but it's worth every penny, so looking forward to having an excuse to go back."
