"We were so looking forward to having a meal here, it was always busy when we passed by and fully booked. On entering on a Sunday evening we asked for a table for five people, it seemed to be a problem, yet it wasn’t late and the place was half empty! Eventually, it appeared grudgingly, we were shown to a table, where we ordered our drinks, chose and ordered our meals, accepted by the waiter without a word, smile or a thank you! The meal was pleasant enough, large helpings of tasty food which we all enjoyed. So much so that when we tried to order another drink it became rather impossible, we were totally ignored, even when we called someone over. Eventually someone arrived to clear plates, but cleared only some of them leaving the other dirty plates where they lay and disappeared again. We eventually gave up, deciding to go elsewhere for a drink, and asked for the bill. We felt we deserved a bit of attention and a decent service just like anyone else. Having spent 135 euros, it would have been more if we had had a bit more attention and decent service, we paid up and whoosh, the best service we received all evening was when the money was placed on the table, we almost lost some fingers so brisk was the service from the most attentive staff!! What is it about us? We are well behaved elderly citizens from Scotland who enjoy a drink and a nice meal, and speak English!!? This really was a surprisingly terrible end to our most enjoyable three night stop in Goslar. We eventually returned to a little bar we had visited the evening before, where we were warmly welcomed once again, and so enjoyed another couple of drinks in pleasant surroundings enabling us to enjoy our final hours in the lovely town of Goslar."
