"It was here many years ago during our first trip to Maria Alm and had very good memories. So now back in Maria Alm I wanted to relive these good memories, but this became a great disappointment. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate with cream, but both were very watery and basically tasteless. My partner drank only 2 sips of her coffee and left him, I finished my chocolate, but not because it was so great tasting. The cream was of good quality. The place has a very nice atmosphere and if you really want it can be made a lot of it. The service was quite uninterested and somewhat unfriendly, not at all on the standard we normally experience in Austria. So we will go back to Maria Alm for skiing, which is safe, but the village cafe that we are passing from now on, waste of money and time."

"I eat at Almbar each year I come with friends to Hinterthal to ski, and it never disappoints in terms of food, drink, ambience and after-dinner party atmosphere. For dinner, most of us had beef, and in this respect, the Almbar is usually spot-on. I had the beef paillard, and it was delicious. We shared mixed salads to start, and they were also excellent with usual Austrian goodies like kraut, potatoes, etc. Almbar has a good Austrian wine list as well. After dinner - and for the third night running - we stayed around till the music and party started. And that is an added treat, since Almbar is also the go-to bar in Hinterthal. Don't miss this place when you are close by!"

"To be honest, this was the worst service and eating that we had so far during our trip to Austria. we arrived in the morning, so it was still very quiet. Before we even had the time to take a place and read the menu, a very unfriendly waitress came to us and without welcoming us, she asked us what we wanted to drink. When we wanted to order, she didn't understand us well and had to ask twice. we felt as if we bothered her all the time. my friend, who is vegetarian, ordered a makkaroni with tomato sauce and cheese. She had a whole plate full of pasta with a little unseasoned tomato sauce that tasted as it came from a dose. I chose the vegan falafel that came with a small bowl of the cousin. the falafel tasted ok, but the bungalow was like rubber. when we wanted to pay the card, she told us we had to go in and go away. in the inner no one looked at us. Although we told her colleagues that we wanted to pay, they thought it was more necessary to play with their phone. Finally, 5 minutes later my friend asked for the third time that we could pay and finally we could do this. our dog did not get water, although her mascot is also a dog. not dog so kind. our opinion is that it is a possibility for what it is worth. we didn't feel welcome at all and eating was not great either. we suggest they go somewhere if they want to eat something."
