"My review is based on the food quality, quantity, as well as customer service. So, my husband and I are pho lovers and junkies. We’ve been on a hunt to find the best pho place in Athens. We’ve been to all the popular locations and happened to stumble upon this Japanese restaurant that served pho. After seeing the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try as we wouldn’t know until we tried it for ourselves. Here’s how our experience went: The server was great and our beef broth was amazing. The second best broth we’ve had in Athens. However, and this is where it all goes downhill I ordered the shrimp pho and EVERYTHING in the bowl was over cooked. The noodles, the shrimp, and the crab meat. The quantity of shrimp was not very much either and very dry. The crab meat literally melted in your mouth as you didn’t even need to chew it to break it down that’s how over cooked it was. So aside from the broth, the quality of the pho was not exceptional or praiseworthy. As for the quantity, simply put, neither my husband nor I got full from the meal. There wasn’t enough of anything noodles, white onion, meat, bean sprouts, etc. The server was kind and generous enough to bring us more of what we requested (bean sprouts, lime, sauce, etc without issues, but, one of the main ingredients they don’t offer at all Thai basil! I acknowledge that this isn’t a Vietnamese restaurant, however, if you choose to serve pho, make it right. For nearly for my shrimp bowl, it was honestly such a rip off. Not great quality food/ingredients and not enough quantity of the food. My husband noted that his beef was super fatty and not very great. Our bean sprouts were clearly old as they were slimy and had browning on them. If this place started using higher quality ingredients, put bigger portions in the bowls, didn’t overcook their food, and lowered their prices, this pho would be amazing. But, unfortunately, it was only sub-par. We definitely want to come back here to try their other food, but not for their pho."
