"The location is nice and the ambiente ok but the guy running the place is rude and unpleasant. Yelling at people (not us) and ruining what could be a nice afternoon. He s seemingly not a local which may explain the temper."

"This is a lovely, relaxing and welcoming place to stop for a break when visiting Silves...or to make it your regular if you live nearby. Wonderful teas...a great variety, great coffee and excellent home made cakes and scones. Everything is tasteful, with a view to creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. The owner is friendly but also allows you space and time to just relax and sit, read and enjoy your break. Many people do not know about this hidden gem. Head towards the post office in Silves and go onto the street one level above. It is closed on Thursdays and Sundays."

"We went as a family and thought the food was ‘fine’ considering it is all you can eat- 14 Euros a head ... you’re never going to get the quality you get if you go a la carte, to specialist Japanese or Chinese. But it was fair enough for a cheap family meal whilst on holiday... one of the best things about the evening was the wonderful, smiley warm hospitality from ‘Shishu’ ."

"Having read the positive reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to try out this restaurant. It was a fabulous experience from start to finish, the owner/host was most helpful, our party included 2 fussy teenagers but this did not present a problem for the restaurant, they were very happy to accommodate, I wasn't surprised when my teenagers said it had been the best dining experience they had during our 1 week stay in the Algarve. This restaurant works hard to ensure a very positive dining experience with huge emphasis on food quality, ambience and customer service. I will definitely return when we come back to the Algarve next year, we stayed at the Amendoeira golf resort and my only criticism is that they did not recommend this gem of a restaurant, I have passed on my feedback to them."

"After visiting the castle we wandered around the town looking for somewhere to get lunch. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in Silves and all of the ones we looked at had tempting menus but we eventually decided on Al Karib. There were tables inside and outside with plenty of shade available. The menu covered most bases between Portuguese and English breakfasts! The staff were excellent although the poor waitress seemed to be the busiest person in Silves. The bread was lovely and they did perfect fried eggs for the kids. In you are in the area I would recommend a visit."
