"For my BD dinner I wanted to go local but wanted a seafood extravaganza..Stamps Lane Seafood Restaurant on Roncesvalles Ave so fit the bill. Really, really good. The prices not bad and vary for every budget. The owner, chef, Will is a great guy, comes and checks each table to make sure everyone is happy and to chat about the food. Rare. The dishes soo fresh. Offered us on the house banana splits...we enjoyed splitting one however really appreciated the generous offer extended. The NB oysters .... yum We all had the crab special...East Coast flare in a tray of goodness...go. Not a fancy upscale place, thank goodness. A very clean, down to earth, comfortable, welcoming one with a nice musical background vibe. I understand the menu changes often. I will go back in a heart beat.. . and will. So nice to have found and experienced this gem in our back yard. Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing."

"Come for the fish and chips, stay for the Thai food. Vicky hasn't been the owner for about 20 years, and Sue has been running it since then. She still has F&C, and it's terrific, but what keeps me coming back is the food from Sue's native Thailand. If you take the dozens of menu options and multiply them by the number of different protein and vegetarian choices, you end up with hundreds of made-to-order dishes to choose from. Sue is always trying out new Asian specials, not just from Thailand, but neighbouring countries as well. And because the restaurant still serves F&C, a recent option is "Thai poutine style" (I call it Sue-tine), in which you can substitute the rice with french fries. It works wonderfully; the chips soak up the sauce very well, and yet they don't get soggy and lose their bite. Sue's Thai food comes in several different levels of hotness, from mild to Thai Hot, and no entree will set you back more than ten dollars. I highly recommend the place; since I moved into the neighbourhood in the early '90s, I think I've probably gone there at least once a week. Except for the month of February, that is; every year, Sue takes her entire staff with her on a month-long holiday to Thailand and the place is closed, ad after a couple of weeks, I'm really jonesing for some of Sue's food. There is simply not a bad meal to be had there."
