"Stayed at the Hotel Douro for two nights. This was a short notice booking and we didn't know what to expect. We were delighted to to receive the friendliest welcome from owners Pedro and Luis. Pedro was very helpful, telling us all about what we could do in the area: wine tasting, walking, resaurant and sight seeing. It was more like visiting relatives than staying at a hotel. The place was neat and tidy with great views of the river. Highly recommended."

"Pinhão is pretty small so I didn't have high hopes to find anything vegan. However, I was lucky at Café Imperio. It's a restaurant with typical food (not exclusively vegan vegetarian) but it has a Veggie burger, and also a Tofu salad. It actually says that the burger is vegetarian, but checking the ingredients they were all vegan, as it was made with soja and other plant based ingredients, but may contain traces of milk and eggs, like many other products on the market. The burguer is vegetarian because it comes with an egg and cheese but I asked for it without it. They also had almond milk for the coffee. The restaurant is very nice and the waiter was also super nice and helpful (he is vegetarian which helped a lot). Would be awesome to have a couple extra vegan options but I understand it's a small town and not a vegan restaurant. Happy cow doesnt let me put 5 stars because it's not exclusively vegan vegetarian, but because of the service and food I definitely would if I could.
