Green Superfood for everyone
The term "superfood" has been on everyone's lips for years. Food that is not only healthy, but also promotes, strengthens and stimulates this and that. That sounds like a little dream.
Superfood can be found in all colors. Whether this is in berry tones or in white. Whether in red, black and white mixed. Or in green... This is exactly where our current representative is located: the avocado!
In the past, avocados were avoided by all those who were committed to losing weight because of their high fat content. However, it is now known that high-fat foods in moderation do not lead to obesity - in fact, they help to maintain or reduce weight because they satiate longer.
As the avocado is one of the berry fruits - despite its less berry-like shape and color - it naturally contains not only fat but also vitamins. These include vitamins A, D, E and K. The avocado also contains carotenoids (even if they are not orange), biotin, folic acid and calcium. In addition, the avocado contains all the necessary amino acids - if that isn't an all-rounder!
Besides the ingredients, it is also known that the consumption of avocado has a positive effect on cholesterol levels. It reduces the unwanted LDL cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Just bite into it?!
Not only does an avocado like this have just about everything you need. You can also enjoy it in almost any form. You can cut it, mash it, cook it, grill it, anything is possible:
- Guacamole (the avocado dip)
This dip, which originates from Mexico, is often prepared and served on the barbecue or with chips or nachos. Besides the obvious main ingredient avocado, tomatoes are also added. This mixture is then refined as desired with coriander, garlic, onions and limes.
- Avocado pasta and rice
Whether as pesto, sauce or in small pieces. You can spice up just about any dish with the avocado.
Similar to the baked banana known from the Asian, you can also bake the avocado. You can either lightly bread them and put them in the oven or you can even deep-fry them in a nice layer of batter.
As pieces or strips in salad, the avocado can also contribute to the overall taste of the salad.
The avocado is also often found in sushi. Due to its fatty yet unique taste, it is mixed with rice, fish and seaweed leaves.
And besides the taste...
Not only should the avocado help you lose weight because of its long satiety period, but it should also provide beautiful skin. The reason for this is vitamin E and carotenoids. These also ensure that the avocado is said to be good for the eyes.
Is there anything not so good?!
Actually, there is. Due to the fact that avocados are grown in supermarkets and supermarkets in countries like Israel, Mexico, but also sometimes in Italy, it has to be said for the sake of the environment that excessive consumption cannot be directly called sustainable.
