"We stopped here on spec for a lunch while we were in Sidmouth. And we're pleased that we did. Lovely little cafe and busy too! The staff were friendly and attentive and the food delivered. I had the jacket potato with mushrooms+stilton, and there were plenty of both plus a dressed salad, and coleslaw. Very reasonably priced, too. Free wifi available too, which was a bonus as Sidmouth is dire for mobile networks. Parking: This cafe has no parking. You'll need to find somewhere on street or in one of Sidmouth's pay+display car parks. Wheelchair accessibility: Tables in the street facing part of the cafe would be suitable for a wheelchair. I think that you'd struggle to get a wheelchair down to the courtyard through the cafe itself. Perhaps there is another route into the courtyard."

"What a little jewel. we visited here while we were gone and had a walk through the city. we ordered a ham and cheese toastie, sausage and speck sandwich and some chips were all amazing, really good quality products. the staff is very friendly and polite. I would recommend this caffe."

"We haven’t eaten at The Duke for quite a while but wanted to give it another chance. Wish we hadn’t because the roast beef lunch wasn’t good at all. The only warm thing on the plates were the potatoes, while the meat and veg was all very cool."

"Lost count how many times we have visited Sidmouth, and one of the main reasons for going is down to Neil 's Restaurant, which in itself says it all. Last week we only managed 3 visits trying to go through the menu, spoilt for choice. We have never been disappointed with any course ever. In fact quite the opposite. The food is freshly cooked with some gentle exquisite sources, plenty of fresh vegetables and special deserts. The staff are great, efficient and friendly, its a great atmosphere. Super quality food at a sendible and reasonable price. One of the telling points is that they were full every night they were open, which is why we could only get in 3 times, luckily we had booked the 3 well in advance. Its an asset to Sidmouth, and you could well understand if estate agents put them as a local asset in the amenities of the particulars of property for sale, could increase the region 's already high property prices, wish we lived near by."

"Sat at a table that was not reserved ; ordered drinks, and just as we were about to order food about 6.15pm we were told we would have to vacate the table as others has come in an wished to eat at our table. We were requested to vacate the table immediately even though we had been sat at the table for over 30 minutes without a reserved sign on it. It seems a very odd way of operating a business, most disrespectful. As locals who eat here frequently we will not be returning."
