"Three visits to eat in, three fantastic meals. We let our server provide recommendations because sometimes the usual gets dull. Both meals fantastic, great flavour, ingredients tasted fresh and vibrant. Loved it. It’s not gourmet style served, but it is top food. Would highly recommend. Cobra’s IPA beer also really nice. Not seen that sold in a curry house before."

"While away for the week we visited here a couple of times with our spaniel, what a great couple running the place : really nice speak with them both, so laid back, it was so relaxing , very clean, the food smelt amazing , very busy in the garden, our spaniel was free to enjoy walking around meeting customers : definitely be back Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 5"

"This is a great local pub not posh, but very friendly with good beers and food. Very welcoming for groups, families, couples, dog walkers, etc. The fresh seafood is especially good and the lunch time fish and chips with peas at £5.95 is an absolute bargain."

"Popped in here for a quick evening meal after a long day on the road. Service was great and food served very quickly. Really enjoyed the food which turned out to be one of the cheapest meals we'd had in a long time. Holmfirth is full of trendy looking eateries with quite high prices. Shimlas probably doesn't fit into this category but I'd much rather eat here."
