"Booked a table on line for our wedding anniversary for 7.30 Friday evening on Tuesday. On the Wednesday I called up and asked if we could be seated in the barn/atrium area which the guy said would be no problem. On arrival we were told that we would be seated in the bar area, which was a bit disappointing as we had asked for a table in the barn/atrium, section. We could not fault the food or service, lovely meal and great staff.Our biggest disappointment was the bar we were seated had several people sat around it who were obviously locals, a few who had probably had a few too many drinks, and the language was to say pretty bad. Now I know we all swear but to here the F and C words while having an anniversary meal in a quite pricey restaurant is not really what you would expect. We did think about saying something but decided to finish the meal and leave."

"We ordered a number of dishes, the rice and noodles were good but the chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce were not too good. I ordered two other chicken dishes and when they arrived they all looked and tasted the same, not sure if...the order was muddled or that’s how they come? The duck was lovely and lemon chicken was too soggy as they pour the lemon sauce on and package, other places serve the sauce separately to save it going soggy. Quite expensive and Mose got thrown away."

"Booked last minute for myself and my parents, arrived and were seated quickly. Despite being short staffed service was friendly and fast. The food was good, a few things running low on the menu but this was communicated well, would rather fresh food that runs out than frozen food! A beautiful old pub and positive dining experience. Will definitely return."
