"Cycled out to 'the Pines ' on a Saturday. We 'd previously drove out to cycle round the various routes, but my 14 year old wanted to 'ride out '. We had about an hour in the bike park and dirt jumps when we decided to get some lunch. We rode to the visitors centre and found a few people queueing at the take away, we were stopped from joining the queue by a member of staff who said 'we 're closed because of high winds ' yes it was windy, but I 'm pretty sure the building wasn 't under threat of being blown away! By the way, it was about 12.30pm I think the staff were just looking forward to 'an early bath '. We then had to coax a starving teenager to the Rumbles cafe at Vicar Water, which we managed, and had a lovely (and cheap) bacon cob."
