"Top marks for beautiful plate presentation, unique restaurant design located in university town, very comfortable seating if you're lucky enough to get one of the cozy love seats, a great beer selection. Lower score for the small servings, high cost for appetizers, noise level of the music. My personal experience: I met up with a friend yesterday for lunch here at The Church Brewing Co. We chose this location among several in the beautiful town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, for its gluten-free menu options and unique appetizer menu. I have dietary restrictions I'm following, and my friend is following a gluten-free diet. We were also looking for a unique dining experience as we were both traveling from different parts of Nova Scotia to meet in a central location for a leisurely lunch. My friend had never dined here before, so it was a novel experience for her. Overall, we enjoyed The Church Brewing Co. Our server was sweet and helpful, and she knew the menu well when we asked questions. She was attentive to our needs. We did feel a bit rushed along, but when we explained we were meeting together after not seeing each other for a long time, then we felt we could relax and enjoy our after dinner tea. It was quiet when we arrived but did get busier over the lunch hour. There was no wait line, and plenty of tables were free, so we didn't feel guilty taking our time. Parking is limited to the street parking out front, so be prepared to walk and use stairs. I was fortunate that the one handicapped space was available, but my friend had a bit of a walk. There are stairs as the Church Brewing Co is perched on a hill. The interior is beautifully designed with lots to look at. You can't help but take a picture or two! The large Gothic chandelier is impressive . We did not order alcohol but this business boasts an impressive craft beer menu. The food presentation was visually creative and well thought out. As mentioned above, portions are small per cost, in my opinion. The meal, however, was satisfying, and we felt satiated. Being on a restricted diet, I did not mind the portion size. No food waste. The deconstructed apple pie dessert is genius and well done, chef! ? YUM"

"I have eaten several times at joe’s and found it usually is a decent experience. bonus that I enjoy the scott skins. this last experience was however very negatiw. my family of 4 (all 18 years old or older) made a reservation of 18:30 clock to celebrate my son and my birthday. When we arrived, it was quite rebellious. while we waited for our order to be taken, someone threw some tables behind us his full glass on the floor, on our feet. it was hard to hear, so the waiter removed his face mask to talk. when the food arrived, a part of it was overcooked and it was much more fatty than usual. before we were gone, there was another table that spilled her glass on the feet and the row-by-row group had smashed a chair. because we couldn't hear each other and were surrounded by miserable people, it wasn't exactly a positive birthday experience."

"My husband and I have been to the Library Pub a number of times in the past. For the most part, these have been positive experiences good food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere. This last visit, however, was a very different experience. We...visited there around 6 p.m. before going to an event, and had prompt service when asking our drink order. We took a little longer to decide on our meal, but ordered that within 15 mins of arriving. An appetizer and entrees. About 20ish mins after we arrived, another couple arrived and ordered an appetizer. We finished our first drink, and ordered a second. Husband's beer was flat (as was the table behind us) so that was quickly exchanged, and I was informed that the keg for my beer was being changed. Ok, no issues there. Thanks for letting us know. After a while, we noticed that the couple near us had received their order. We stopped our server and asked where our appetizer was. She said she was going to go back to the kitchen to find out. We waited a while, and then had to ask a second time for an update. It turned out our order had gone missing somehow. Ok, fine, skip the appetizers and wait for our entrees. She also tried to say that the kitchen was backed up, but somehow they were able to get the food ready for the couple who arrived after us. When this was pointed out, she was silent for a moment, and then said we made a point. By this time it was around 7:10 p.m., and we had to leave at 7:30 to get to our event. We let her know that if the order was not out by 7:20 at the latest, we'd settle up our bill and leave. (not that we wanted to go out on an empty stomach, but we couldn't be late) At 7:19 (or so), our entrees arrived. Husband's pan fried haddock, the breading was slightly dark, mine was ok. Unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy the flavours of the salads, nor the haddock, as we had to eat quickly in order to arrive at our event in time. I think it tasted good? Before the entree arrived, we asked to speak to a manager she shook her head and quietly said there were no managers on site. Which was shocking to me. There was no attempt to make amends other than the server apologizing over and over. She removed two of our drinks from our bill after our pointing out that there was nothing done to try to remedy this situation, saying that's all she could do. She muttered multiple more apologies as we settled our bill, and left to look after other customers. Had there been communication with us about what was going on (that the appetizer order was lost, or that our entrees were coming, an update on what's going on in the kitchen anything like that), we may have been less frustrated. But being given excuses and apologies, and not having a manager to talk with about our experience really disappointed and frustrated us. I acknowledge that we probably could have let her know our timeline, but we hadn't had to do that in the past so it didn't cross our minds at the time. This was once a favourite place for date night, but we'll be rethinking visiting this restaurant in the future."
