"This place is unique among many of the unusual places where we've had dinner. This is home cooking done with Newfoundland style. I had moose roast with potatoes, peas, turnips, and chowder, while my wife had a moose burger. The moose burger wasn't especially memorable, but my moose roast was super, as was the chowder.The ladies who work here can only be described as a piece of art---and I mean that in a good way. The waitress (sorry, but I forget her name) had a marvelous sense of humor and we exchanged banter back and forth the entire time. I liked it so much, I dropped in the next day for another bowl of chowder!While waiting for my food, I chatted with a guy who leads kayak tours, and he showed me some incredible video on his laptop of kayaks approaching icebergs, etc. There was also a guitar in the corner that I tinkered with and serenaded my waitress.This is not fine dining, but an inexpensive, authentic Newfoundland experience with real people serving real food in an otherwise touristy town. You'll either like it or you won't. You'll never know if you don't try it. Consider it as a down-to-earth, folksy alternative to the usual forgettable tourist oriented faux seafood restaurants."
